Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse: Poof!
Excuse my extreme lateness. I'm late in posting about this past eclipse because I've been so busy living it. This one has been a doozy.
First some facts. Astronomically, this past Blood Moon total lunar eclipse was the longest eclipse of the century, lasting three hours and fifty-five minutes from beginning to end. The period of totality lasted one hour and forty-three minutes! It was visible in Africa, Europe, Asia, and South America. It was eclipse number thirty-eight in Saros cycle 129, putting it roughly in the middle of the eleven total eclipses at the top of that cycle. It was a micromoon, meaning that at the time of the eclipse, the Moon was almost at its further point away from the Earth, therefore it appeared smaller than normal in the sky. Astrologically, this eclipse is the penultimate (I love that word) eclipse in the current Leo/Aquarius cycle. The last eclipse in this cycle will occur next January. Furthermore, the Moon/Mars conjunction that added so much energy to this eclipse was actually visible for several evenings over the past week.
When I first looked at the eclipse chart, I heard the announcer in my head say: "Ladies and Gentlemen and Children of All Ages! This is the moment you've all been waiting for!"
This is the point where, suddenly, just like that, poof, a shift occurs in our thinking, and we see the solutions which have been eluding us for the past few months. With five planets in retrograde, we're retreating within and finally seeing what we've been missing. The Full Moon in Aquarius essentially carries the energy of inspirational self-discovery which culminates in the breaking of bonds and in explosively brilliant bursts of insight which expands our vision of who we are in a single burning flash. This is true of the Full Moon in Aquarius generally, however, this time, this quality is the defining factor of this Moon, turned up to eleven. No, thirteen, maybe even fifteen.
We thought we were uncomfortable at the Gemini New Moon a couple of months ago. That seems like a walk in the park compared with the energy we are facing now. Then we were faced with a multitude of options, none of which seemed good. But at that time, we could hang loose and let it ride. Now it's time to choose. It really does not feel like a choice though. It feels like a primal, instinctual imperative. It also feels like it is the most dangerous option of the bunch. The one that carries the most risk. We're that moth flirting with the flame.
There is relief in knowing we're going even if we have no idea, in the slightest, where we will end up. This eclipse represents a major turn in our collective evolution. The way forward is clearer now. We know there is a lot of uncertainty but, just like we knew before, we don't have to lose everything. We won't lose everything. As a matter of certainty, if we are bold enough and brave enough, we will totally come out on top. That's our biggest insight right now.
