Full Moon in Gemini Lunar Eclipse: Light in the Darkness

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,

some momentary awareness comes

as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,

who violently sweep your house

empty of its furniture,

still, treat each guest honorably.

This poetic wisdom was shared by a good friend on her Facebook page and was one of the first things I saw on my timeline this morning. I feel it encapsulates the energy of the Gemini Full Moon. Because this Full Moon is an eclipse, it represents a major turning point.

The Gemini Full Moon always occurs during this time of year when summer is long over and we know that fall is almost done. We're getting acclimated to the fading light and increasing darkness.

Gemini is an inherently hopeful and positive sign. It's social and communicative and wants to engage. It's also keenly aware of, and delighted by, dualities. Gemini loves the light but is equally enamored of the dark. Gemini is aware that light and dark cannot exist without each other. They are inextricably linked.

Usually during this time of year, we are engaging with each other through holiday parties and family get-togethers. However, because pandemic, we're having to do things differently. We're up to it though. We are finding ways to move through this darkness together. We will use every bit of our ingenuity to sustain our connections to each other. It's hitting us much harder than it needed to because we have been so deluded and trying too hard to keep things "normal". Reality is forcing us to a new "normal", making us use our wits and figure out different ways to be together.

Even as we are surrounded by so much death, we can find ways to be joyful. With our feet firmly rooted in the reality of our situation, we can now engage with each other and effectively find the answers. We can openly greet whatever comes to us as long as we do it together.
